UPDATE: IDEA CFA Training on March 7, 2025 (3/4/2025)

Due to scheduling conflicts, the in-person Middle and East Tennessee IDEA CFA training sessions originally scheduled for the first week of March are being combined into one virtual training on Friday, March, 7, 2025. This virtual training will be from 10:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. CT | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. ET.

Relief Funding Liquidation Extension and Reimbursements (3/4/2025)
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) approved the ARP ESSER (ESSER 3.0) liquidation extension requests submitted by the Tennessee Department of Education (department). The approval from ED allows LEAs with department-level approvals an additional 14 months past the period of performance end to fully liquidate obligations made by Sept. 30, 2024.

Forty-three LEAs have approved liquidation extension requests for remaining ARP ESSER (ESSER 3.0) funds. Those LEAs may begin requesting reimbursement in ePlan.

Request Date

The request date (fiscal information “as of” date) is managed differently after the grant obligation deadline has passed. The request date entered in ePlan must be on or before the obligation deadline. This means an LEA requesting reimbursement under relief funding liquidation extension must enter the request date as Sept. 30, 2024.

Documentation

Supporting documentation is required. Documentation for each request should match the total amount requested to the penny. Improper documentation will lead to delays in reimbursements.

The department is still awaiting final approval from ED for ARP Homeless (1.0, 2.0, and Systems Navigator) liquidation extension requests. When approved, the reimbursement process will be the same for those grants as for ESSER 3.0. 

The relief team will host weekly office hours on Wednesdays at 9 a.m. CT | 10 a.m. ET to support LEAs with ESSER questions. Please reach out to your relief funding coordinator for additional information on ESSER. For ARP Homeless 1.0, 2.0, & Systems Navigator reach out to Vanessa Waters at Vanessa.Waters@tn.gov. Additionally, you may also contact your Regional Finance Consultant with specific reimbursement questions.  

   
2025 Summer Programming Guidance and Office Hours (1/30/2025)

Ahead of this coming summer’s opportunities for students to gain additional learning time and academic supports during summer camp, the department is releasing updated guidance documents to support district and school planning. Additional resources to be released include guidance for budgeting, ePlan application, SPEAR attendance, and post-testing. Summer programming waivers are now available in ePlan located in the Data and Information tab. For questions, please contact Summer.Programs@tn.gov.  

Updated Guidance for Summer 2025:    

Additionally, the department is offering Summer Programming office hours twice a month to discuss and ask questions about summer programming waivers and applications, camp scheduling, student participation, and other summer guidance. District leaders are encouraged to bring specific questions as they navigate planning for summer programming. 

District leaders can join the Summer Programming office hours using the TEAMS Meeting links below. Charter organizations will need to go through their district authorizer point of contact to receive specific guidance on summer programming.  

InformTN Planning Roles (1/2/2025)

To prepare for the opening of the InformTN platform and the planning window on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, district user access administrators can review and assign the LEA Planning roles that are needed to work on the district plans.  

  • The user report will list everyone in the district with their current roles.

Single Sign On (SSO) Account Set-up and Password Assistance (9/29/2020)

Individuals that have a locked SSO account should send an email to DT.Support@tn.gov requesting a new Welcome email.
