Call for Public Comment: 21st CCLC Tydings Waiver (3/26/2026)
The Tennessee Department of Education hereby provides public notice that it is requesting a Tydings waiver for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) funds awarded under § 4201 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended.

The department is seeking approval to extend the period of availability for $121,919.91 in remaining FY 2022 21st CCLC funds until September 30, 2026.
This request is submitted pursuant to § 421(b) of the General Education Provisions Act (GEPA), which authorizes a state educational agency (SEA), in accordance with criteria it establishes, to carry over and obligate funds beyond the initial period of availability.

Approval of this waiver will allow the department and its 21st CCLC subgrantees to continue obligating and drawing down these funds to support critical out-of-school-time programming. Extending the obligation period ensures that services for local educational agencies, schools, students, families, and community-based organizations can continue without diverting resources from other essential educational activities.

Public comments regarding this waiver request may be submitted to Extended.Learning@tn.gov for consideration prior to submission to the U.S. Department of Education.
Call for Public Comment-Draft Ed-Flex Program Application (3/16/2026)

The department has released its draft application for designation as an Ed-Flex Partnership State under the Educational Flexibility (Ed-Flex) Program. Tennessee’s draft application outlines the state’s plan to provide LEAs with greater flexibility in implementing federal programs, particularly in areas such as Title IV, Part A spending requirements and technology infrastructure limitations, while maintaining rigorous accountability aligned to the state’s ESSA plan.

The draft Ed-Flex Application is available for public review from March 16 to April 16, 2026. During this window, parents, educators, school administrators, and community members are invited to read the application and submit comments via this form.

Over the course of two days, educators, leaders, and partners will come together to explore how stronger connections across programs, agencies, and communities can improve outcomes for students in alternative settings.

Single Sign On (SSO) Account Set-up and Password Assistance (9/29/2020)

Individuals that have a locked SSO account should send an email to DT.Support@tn.gov requesting a new Welcome email.
